Queue Manager docs

Queue Manager

Queue Manager is a Forge app for Jira Cloud teams that need configurable project queues without maintaining one-off filters across multiple places.

The app works with Jira Software and Jira Service Management projects. It reads Jira issue data and stores queue configuration in Atlassian Forge storage.

Requirements

  • A Jira Cloud site.
  • Permission to install Marketplace apps.
  • Project access to the Jira Software or Jira Service Management projects where queues will be used.
  • Admin or configured project-role access to manage queues.

Installation

  1. Install Queue Manager from Atlassian Marketplace.
  2. Select the Jira Cloud site.
  3. Review scopes and approve installation.
  4. Open a Jira project and select Queue Manager in the project sidebar.

First setup

Queue Manager starts with two practical queue views: Assigned to me and All open items. These defaults can be renamed, edited, duplicated, or replaced.

Queues

Queues are saved Jira issue views with a name, priority group, JQL filter, and column layout. Use Manage queues to edit, duplicate, delete, or reorder queues for the current project.

JQL filters

JQL mode gives administrators direct control over the issue filter used by each queue.

assignee = currentUser() AND resolution is EMPTY ORDER BY updated DESC

Use Validate JQL before saving changes.

Columns

Each queue can have its own issue table layout. Recommended starting columns: issue type, key, summary, reporter, assignee, status, and created.

Security and data handling

  • Runs on Atlassian Forge.
  • Stores queue configuration in Forge storage.
  • Does not require PATs, passwords, or shared secrets.
  • Does not use external analytics or advertising services for app functionality.
